How does the 'record viewed' event work?

Hi,

I cannot find any information about the ‘record viewed’ event in the Help.

• Is it held in cache ?
• Can it be reset ?
• If a user views a record once, can it be reset ? From brief observation, if a record is viewed and a rule is triggered, the next time the record is viewed then the rule is not triggered.

I believe that Record Viewed event firing is restricted to no more than once per hour per record per user, because of their high frequency.
