If I use cs.get_session_ip_address(); in a CS widget to get the users session IP address for display …

Does anyone know if this is the SAME IP address that would be used in the Firewall / Access Profile rules to determine blocking or allowing ?

I might have naively assumed it was :wink:

Yes, you would be correct! That being said I’d be interested in the question behind the question. We do have protections in place for abuse such as fail2ban which detects certain signs of abuse.

This was back when we were having some issues with whitelisting for a client and in order to prove they had a problem, I needed to see what IP address the client user was reporting as. It helped us isolate an issue (to the clients infrastructure).
