Microsoft Edge freezing for around 2 minutes when saving subsets, rules?

Has anyone experienced MS Edge freezing (Not responsing) for around 30 seconds to a few minutes when saving Subsets, Rules…?

This has been happening for several months, but seems to be getting worse lately.

I’m wondering if this is an issue with Netcall, MS Edge or my Laptop?

Yes, I do experience this often, especially when you have the browser running for a while it becomes worse up to the point where I need to open task manager and kill Edge altogether.

This probably needs to be raised as a bug so that it gets investigated properly.

My guess is that there could be something in the client side processing that needs to be cleaned up or it could actually be something with Edge browser specifically.

I might try and analyse this next time, when it happens.

Thanks for confirming its not just me experiencing this issue.

It’s very annoying when you are working on something, go to save and then have to wait 2 minutes+ for it to respond (if it does at all).

I will see what other responses we get here before I raise a ticket, as other users may be able to add some more ideas as to what is causing this that may help Netcall diagnose.

This is a strange issue you’re both experiencing, and Ged’s right - It should probably come to use to investigate the cause. It may be the resource allocation on your respective Controllers, a machine issue, or even an issue within the platform. In any case we’d need to investigate it.

If you could raise a Support Ticket for us please, with any details such as replication to see this happening and rough times this has happened, so we can experience and add logging to analyse further, that’d be helpful.

I have changed the resource allocation CPU Priority from 3 up to 5 on all 5 build hosts and will see if that helps.

Just to add we have the same issue when saving, but never occurs in Chrome so use that for Liberty Create now.

Yes it seems to be an issue with Edge, I cranked up the CPU Priority from 3 up to 5 and that made no difference when using Edge.

I’ve been using Chrome all day and had no issues.

Its a shame though as I have all browser Add-ons, passwords, etc in Edge.

Did you raise a support ticket for this in the end?

I’d still suggest doing so if not, no reason I can think of why you should be seeing this behaviour, so it’s worth looking in to if you prefer to use Edge.

I have just raised a support ticket, will update on here when Netcall have responded.
